BMW Motorrad has unveiled the BMW R 1300 R “TITAN” – a no-compromise custom bike that embodies the brand’s motorsport passion, aesthetic boldness, and engineering precision.
Born from a unique in-house initiative, the project brought together a tight-knit team of enthusiasts: project lead Philipp Ludwig, vehicle designer Andreas Martin, color and graphics expert Theresa Stukenbrock, and seasoned prototype builders Paul Summerer and Thomas Becker. Together, they breathed life into this radical machine.
TITAN’s design reinterprets the core styling language of the BMW R 1300 R into the aggressive silhouette of a sprint racer. With its low-slung, forward-biased stance and 1300cc boxer engine at the heart, the bike resembles a predator ready to pounce.
Its monocoque structure and dramatic air duct design exaggerate the dynamics of the base model, visually pressing weight onto the front wheel for maximum traction on launch. The forged carbon-fiber bodywork contrasts with a modern, kinetic livery highlighted by bold metallic blue accents.
Akrapovic, a long-time BMW Motorrad partner, developed a bespoke titanium exhaust system for TITAN. This dual-outlet setup, routed under the tail section, not only boosts performance but also delivers a visceral acoustic experience.
A Wilbers-built custom chassis with a long swingarm ensures no ounce of engine power is wasted. Meanwhile, a nitrous oxide system adds a brutal injection of speed at the push of a button, thrusting both rider and machine forward with electrifying force. The shaft drive and transmission efficiently transmit power to the ground, while a Magura HC3 lever ensures confident deceleration post-sprint.
Rear-set footpegs help secure the rider during high-speed sprints, ensuring optimal control and balance. Every detail of the TITAN reflects BMW Motorrad’s commitment to performance, craftsmanship, and innovation.
The BMW R 1300 R “TITAN” is not just a motorcycle—it’s a statement. Bold, fast, and meticulously built to win.
