BMW M3 Rallye (E30) Thrills at the GP Ice Race 2020 in Zell am See

BMW Group Classic made an electrifying debut at the GP Ice Race 2020, showcasing the legendary BMW M3 on the icy tracks of Zell am See, Austria. The event, held on February 1-2, brought together historic racing machines, and among them, the BMW M3 stood out as a true champion.

This first-generation BMW M3 boasts a remarkable racing pedigree. It clinched victory in the European Touring Car Hillclimb Championship in both 1988 and 1989 under the skilled hands of Francis Dosières. Following its success on hill climbs, the M3 was transformed into a rally car, proving its versatility in the French Rally Championship, where Patrick Artru achieved impressive results with it.

At the GP Ice Race 2020, the BMW M3 was driven by Philipp Eng, a Salzburg-born DTM driver, making this race a homecoming for the Austrian racer. Eng skillfully maneuvered the legendary M3 across the frozen surface, thrilling spectators and demonstrating the car’s racing DNA in a unique, icy setting.

With its rich motorsport history and proven performance across multiple disciplines, the BMW M3 once again cemented its reputation as a racing icon at Zell am See.
