Range Rover is firmly cementing its footprint in the era of electrification. Following the highly anticipated arrival of the Range Rover Electric, the British marque has confirmed the forthcoming debut of its second fully electric vehicle: the Range Rover Sport Electric. This announcement signals a definitive new chapter in the realm of sporting luxury.
A New Era Unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed
In a fitting tribute to its performance pedigree, the Range Rover Sport Electric was recently presented during an exclusive private preview at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK.
Paying homage to its legacy of pioneering, gravity-defying feats—such as conquering the 999-step ascent at Heaven’s Gate in China and battling the torrential flow of an Icelandic spillway—prototypes of the Electric model tackled a series of driven challenges on the historic Goodwood Motor Circuit. The showcase proved that while the propulsion system has evolved, the vehicle’s unyielding capability remains deeply ingrained in its DNA.
Visceral Performance Meets Electric Refinement
Aesthetically, the new EV retains the unmistakable, muscular silhouette that has defined the Range Rover Sport. Beneath its sculpted exterior, however, lies a paradigm shift in performance engineering.
Driven by a fully electric powertrain, the vehicle is designed to deliver effortless, instantaneous power. It integrates a suite of advanced technologies, unlocking unprecedented torque amplified by an advanced new chassis tune. Coupled with a meticulously engineered audio soundscape, the drive is promised to be as distinctive as it is visceral, ensuring maximum engagement across any terrain.
Completing the Ultimate Range Rover Sport Portfolio
Martin Limpert, Managing Director, encapsulated the vision: “Electric power brings a new edge to Range Rover Sport… combining the refinement and immediate performance of electric drive while further elevating the unmistakable character our clients already know and love.”
The addition of this pure-electric model, arriving later in 2026, will complete the definitive powertrain line-up for the Range Rover Sport. Joining the existing plug-in electric hybrid (PHEV), mild-hybrid V8 petrol, and six-cylinder petrol and diesel options, the portfolio will offer an uncompromising, tailored solution for every discerning client.
