Porsche, together with leading kiteboarding brand Duotone, launched a new kite and board on 6 October 2023. The design of this limited special edition is a tribute to the legendary Porsche 917/20 racing car with its striking ‘Pink Pig’ design.
Duotone’s first collaborative kite with Porsche, presented last year, was an instant sell-out. Now, the latest instalment of this joint project has been unveiled in Tarifa, Spain. The kite takes inspiration from one of the most iconic designs in Porsche motor racing history, the 917/20. It occupies a special place among the 917 versions, and this special edition is limited to 360 units, in reference to the top speed of the 917 in Le Mans in 1971.
Porsche has further expanded its commitment to challenging and spectacular sports in recent years, and in 2021 Porsche announced its commitment to the further development of kitesurfing and big wave surfing. In addition to its collaboration with Duotone, Porsche offers support and technical cooperation to athletes in these sports. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this limited edition model will be donated to Duotone’s programme to support young talent.
