GCK Motorsport has announced that it will debut a new electric rallycross car—the Lancia Delta Evo-e RX—at the FIA World Rallycross Championship held at the Nürburgring in Germany on November 12–13, 2022. Based on the legendary Italian hot hatch that defined the ’80s and ’90s, the Lancia Delta Integrale, the new machine brings a classic icon into the electric racing era.
First unveiled a year prior, the racing-spec Delta Evo-e RX made waves across the international motorsport community. Built entirely from scratch at GCK Performance’s workshop in Issoire, central France, the car was developed using custom tools and dedicated facilities. Over 1,200 hours were spent on the chassis alone, reflecting the meticulous attention to detail in its design and construction.
Combining past glory with future technology, the unmistakable silhouette of the Delta remains, now wrapped around a modern tubular frame and powered by two cutting-edge electric motors delivering a combined output of 500 kW—equivalent to 680 bhp.
The original Lancia Delta dominated the FIA World Rally Championship from the late 1980s into the early 1990s, winning five manufacturers’ titles and three drivers’ championships. For Guerlain Chicherit, the founder and president of GCK (Green Corp Konnection)—himself born in the 1980s and inspired by fellow Frenchman Didier Auriol piloting the Group A Delta—the choice of this iconic model, designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, was a natural one when launching the company’s retrofit division in 2020.
