Mercedes-Benz Dazzles at ModaMiami with “Silver Stars from Stuttgart”

Miami’s prestigious ModaMiami event once again served as a top-tier gathering for classic car enthusiasts, with Mercedes-Benz taking center stage. The event, set against the picturesque backdrop of the historic Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, celebrated the legacy of the brand with the three-pointed star. The highlight was the exhibition of the legendary “Silver Stars from Stuttgart,” which included the iconic Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR from 1955, the SLR McLaren “Stirling Moss” (Z 199), and other sought-after classic and modern models. With this display, Mercedes-Benz reaffirmed its status as the most valuable classic car brand in the world.

A Tribute to Motorsport Heritage

The event paid homage to Mercedes-Benz’s remarkable 1955 motorsport season, during which the brand secured two world championships—the Formula 1 title with Juan Manuel Fangio and the Sports Car World Championship with the 300 SLR. A special presentation at The Concours Club racetrack in Miami featured the original 300 SLR and the SLR McLaren “Stirling Moss,” a limited-production roadster honoring the legendary victory of Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson in the Mille Miglia.

Historic Auction Records

Adding to the event’s significance, the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR’s immense value was underscored by a recent auction of the W 196 R Silver Arrow, which sold for a record-breaking 51.155 million euros. This made it the most valuable Grand Prix racing car ever sold, second only to the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR “Uhlenhaut Coupé,” which holds the record at 135 million euros.

The Best of MANUFAKTUR

Mercedes-Benz also showcased its MANUFAKTUR program, offering exclusive customization options across its lineup. Among the standout models were a Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance in cirrus silver metallic and a Mercedes-AMG G 63 in hyper blue magno, both exemplifying the brand’s dedication to bespoke luxury.

ModaMiami’s Growing Influence

ModaMiami continues to redefine the North American classic car calendar, blending automotive excellence with auctions, fine dining, and live entertainment. The event also aims to attract a younger audience, ensuring the passion for classic cars endures for generations to come.
